A scheme to help improve and reduce congestion at the busy Asda roundabout on the outskirts of Leigh Park / Bedhampton are set to begin on the 20th October 2014.
The works which are costing around £7m on the stretch of road between Purbrook Way and Hulbert road are set to take over a year to complete and should be finished by December 2015.
In between this period work will be paused in December 2014 until the first week of January 2015 to ensure that no disruption is caused to Asda and other local businesses on the run up to Christmas. This will be welcome news to everyone involved.
The works being undertaken will see an increased size of junctions and traffic lights installed to permanently help with the flow of traffic at all times.
The contractor for this entire job has been named as Geoffrey Osbourne Ltd.
